I am so excited to read Catherine’s book because the Mississippians I respect MOST rave about her. Thanks for sharing and Godspeed to Catherine as the promo season begins!
I'm interested to read a book about body trauma and childbirth. Having endured two emergency c-sections 22 & 20 years ago I've never felt that experience for me and my husband has ever had the attention that it deserved. You hold your baby and get on with life with hardly a thought for your mind or your body.
Mississippi seems to be crammed with interesting and inspiring people, I enjoy these interviews so much!
Elisabeth, I had an emergency C-section too, and I agree that I was so unprepared for the aftermath. I hope you are able to get your hands on a copy of Proud Flesh--Catherine's writing is validating and inclusive, but also her storytelling is just completely immersive. Thank you for your comment!
Another great interview. We would love to welcome her to come wander, wonder
and write at our guest house.
I love your recognition that "the imaginative web is alive all around us" - in part because of your own presence and work in Mississippi!
