Neesha was vulnerable, honest, and authentic. She talked about how in writing about her own family history, she uncovered important moments in Black history that helped her understand her coastal Georgia roots in a new way. We also spoke about power of tears and the importance of reviving and reclaiming Black agricultural knowledge and traditions. Neesha also broke down their writing process—how a journalism background did and did not translate to writing more personal essays.
